Just a HUGE thank you to all of you for your tremendous help and
sacrifice on Christmas Day. I personally, felt like the day went really
really well and with all the amazing help in the kitchen from Mary, Mike
and Noelle, I managed to get out into the middle of it and speak to
some of our guests. An ENORMOUS thank you must go to the two ladies,
Helen and Jane who took my crude excel sheet and transformed it into a
supersonic rota for collecting and delivering guests!!! It was wonderful
to see some of the faces from previous years, Jackie, Mary, Helen,
Stephen, Vida and Ann to name but a few - thank you thank you thank you.
We
have already had a couple of letters from our guests. One gentleman had
a dinner delivered to him by "two lovely ladies" and specifically
mentioned that he was incredibly grateful for the kindness shown to him!
Another letter of note that came also from Daphne Squires who has been
with us all three years, she says "My appreciation for everything and
many thanks", "It was lovely to be waited on and kind of the volunteers
to give time".
All in all a splendid day and I hope, just as importantly, you all felt like your day was well spent and enjoyable.
Just
two last enormous thank yous to Sainsbury's who provided us with the
means to feed everyone and of course Tom and his family from Newitt's of
Thame who supplied those enormous and delicious free-range turkeys and
who also spent time to come out to the Birdcage on Christmas Day to see
where their turkeys were being eaten!!!

you must go to you also for offering the safety and knowledge that Thame
Welfare Trust are behind us every year. You have no idea how important
that is to me.
